Our hand crafted blankets

At Pink Namaste, we believe in the beauty of things made slowly, where process, patience and human touch are inseparable from the final form.

Our blankets are handcrafted from the finest cotton fibres, each one shaped through traditional techniques of spinning, dyeing, weaving and woodblock printing. These are not industrial methods, but living crafts, passed through generations and rooted in time, care and intention.

Across every stage, we are guided by respect: for the material, for the maker and for the environment. Subtle variations in colour, texture and finish are not flaws, but the natural expression of handcraft, ensuring that no two pieces are ever the same.

We work with both vegetable and carefully considered dyes, always with a focus on reducing environmental impact while achieving depth and longevity of colour. Where bleaching is required, we use hydrogen peroxide only, a fully biodegradable and responsible solution.

Each fabric begins with a long, gentle cleansing process, allowing the fibres to be purified and prepared for dye. It is then treated with natural harda, derived from the fruit of the myrobalan plant (Terminalia chebula), a step that helps the colour bond deeply and naturally to the cloth.

Dried slowly under open skies, the fabric takes on a soft, sun-washed tone, a quiet foundation for what follows and a reflection of the environment in which it is made.

From here, each pattern is applied by hand using carved wooden blocks. Every impression is placed individually by skilled artisans, guided by rhythm, memory and experience rather than machinery.

Once complete, the fabric is left to rest before being carefully washed and gently boiled in copper vessels with natural ingredients. This final stage allows the colour to settle, deepen and become part of the fibre itself.

What remains is not simply a blanket, but a piece of living craft, shaped by time, tradition and the quiet intelligence of human hands.
