How to Hang an Aerial Yoga Swing From Your Ceiling

Pink Namaste Yoga Hammock Kits come pre-assembled and ready to hang. Here is a helpful guide for installing a secure hammock attachment point in your home

THE BEAM

Safety first.
Make sure you have a ceiling beam strong enough to support your weight. You will need at least a 4×4 or 2×6 beam. A 2×4 is not strong enough.

Use a stud finder to locate a beam in your ceiling. If you are unsure of its size, you must be able to visibly confirm it. This will require either attic access or exposing the beam.

If you only have a 2 × 4, you may need a professional to reinforce the full length of the beam and stabilise the ends.

When in doubt, always consult a professional. Safety comes first.

THE SUSPENSION

Once you have identified a suitable beam, you will need to install either ceiling plates or eye bolts.

Our yoga hammocks require two suspension points, i.e. two ceiling plates or two eye bolts spaced approximately shoulder-width apart.

If installing eye bolts, they must be at least 7/16” thick and installed vertically into the beam, not at an angle.

If using ceiling plates, ensure they are centred on the beam so that all four screws are securely anchored into solid timber.

We strongly recommend consulting a professional for this stage as well.

THE HEIGHT

The hammock is typically installed with the seat (saddle) at approximately hip height, allowing around 5–10 inches of clearance between your head and the floor during inversions.

Different heights may suit different types of movement. You can adjust the setup using daisy chains or by retying knots in the hammock to find your ideal position.

For higher ceilings, nylon daisy chains or a strong rope may be required to lower the hammock to a usable height.

We recommend allowing at least 4–6 feet of clearance from any wall, and ideally a 5–6 foot diameter of open space around the hammock for safe use.

ENJOY

Your hammock arrives fully assembled and ready to use. Attach your swing to your ceiling hooks, daisy chains, or rope and begin your practice.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The installation of the attachment point is the responsibility of the hammock owner. Pink Namaste does not currently supply installation kits or mounting hardware.

We strongly recommend hiring a professional to ensure installation is safe and secure.

The owner is solely responsible for the safety and integrity of the installation.
